Welcome to our 2024 Spring Newsletter which is chocked full of news and events! As I write this on April 4th the lake is free of ice with the last bits having disappeared yesterday. 2024 was the winter that really wasn’t. Ice cover was only 75 days long on Otter Lake. It is finally spring In Seguin!! Something I recently learned is that the Seguin River and Seguin Township get their names from the Ojibwe word for spring, Ziigwan. (Thank you Marty Chepesiuk!)
History is on our minds now since OLRA is celebrating the association’s 60th anniversary! 60 years is not even close to how long many families can trace back their history on the Otter Lakes, but it is quite a milestone for a lake association to achieve.
