Hot weather with very little rain has reduced lake levels to just below the MNR&F’s target range for Otter Lake. See the Lake Levels – MNR&F link for the dam at Little Otter. Otter Lake is about 3ft higher than the Boyne River at this time due to having the dam.
Please advise the boaters in your family to watch out for shoals which are much closer to the surface now.
As well, the fire hazard is now set to Extreme which means:
|NO OPEN BURNING. Camp fires NOT allowed. To report a violation please contact the Township of Seguin Fire Services department at (705) 732-4300. For evening and weekend violations please contact the after hours dispatch at 705-751-0050.|
The upside of all this heat is that swimming is fantastic with water temps above 25 degrees.
Enjoy your weekend at the lake!
