Two Loon Chicks Hatched on Little Otter Lake!

June 19, 2019 by Kerry Mueller

These two chicks were hatched on Sunday June 16th reported Allan Campbell. They have been actively swimming and feeding with their attentive parents on Little Otter Lake. Nesting took place on the floating loon nesting platform that Marilyn and Allan Campbell have put out for the Loons for about 20 years now. Such floating platforms help Loons adapt to erratic water levels such as we have seen this spring.

Please boat carefully and stay far away from Loons since loon chicks cannot dive for several weeks and are so small they are very hard to see.

Thanks for looking out for our Loons!
