Dear OLRA Members (and friends),
The Canada Day Boat Parade is scheduled for July 1, 2023 from 2-4 pm (rain date is July 2). The Parade is open to anyone residing (permanently or temporarily) on Otter Lake or Little Otter Lake.

Overall Winner
Big shout out to the Otter Lake Marina for donating two prizes (Otter Lake swag)! The Overall Winner goes home with a cool Otter Lake trophy, bragging rights and $100 gift certificate for Otter Lake Marina! Only parade registered OLRA members are eligible for prizes, all Otter Lake residents are welcome to join in.
We’ve attached the one-hour parade route so that you can invite neighbours, friends and family to view the parade from shore, dock or boat. If any inclement weather or safety concerns occur, then the route, at the discretion of the lead boat, may be changed or cut short during the parade.
We need Volunteer Judges!
If you would like to have a premier seat to view the parade, why not consider being one of our judges for the Boat Parade (we are looking for 3 judges). All you need is the ability to stand or sit (bring a chair) on the Marina dock, use a pen to score the boats (bring a pen, paper and clipboard) and have a keen sense of FUN! Please send us an email at otterlakeboatparade@olra.ca for further instructions.
Here are the details:
– Registration confirmation occurs at 1:30.
– We will be assembling for registration, line-up and orientation near the Otter Lake Marina. Look for the OLRA Banner.
– Each boat, once registered, receives a number card to hold up as you cruise by the judges on the Otter Lake Marina dock.
– Winners will be announced at the parade end and they can proceed to the judges (Otter Lake Marina) to pick up their prizes and have their pictures taken.
Rules, Rules, Rules:
– Boats must stay in line at the travel speed of the lead boat, about 6 knots.
– Only motorized boats that can keep pace may participate.
– Decorate your boat with respect to the environment. Tissue paper or balloons floating in the lake are not a good thing.
– Boat captains agree to adhere to all government laws including regulations pertaining to safe boating procedures, and must return the originally signed/witnessed waiver when picking up their number card on the day of the parade.
– Have fun!!!
