The Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) will be conducting a Fisheries Monitoring Project on Otter Lake this summer (mid-May to the end of August). The project will consist of some water quality monitoring, water temperature / DO (dissolved oxygen) profiles, zooplankton sampling, fisheries tagging / netting and the collection of fish flesh samples for contaminant monitoring.
If you see NDMNRF buoys, please don’t lift the nets or buoys, and avoid recreational activities or anchoring between and around the buoys. All NDMNRF nets are clearly marked with orange buoys bearing the Ontario logo. Nets are checked and moved to a new location every day.
Please check out the Notice to Lake Residents and a Fisheries Monitoring Poster for more info.
