At least one pair of Loons is nesting on our lake now and hopefully more. As you can see from this photo shared by Marilyn Campbell, Loon nests are low to the water. Incubation takes about 26-28 days. If eggs are lost to predators or washed out of the nest by large wakes the Loons may try again so nesting can happen into July as we saw on Otter Lake last year.
