Ice Is Finally Out as of April 23rd, 2022

April 24, 2022 by Kerry Mueller

The ice was “in” as of Jan 2nd, 2022 and “out” on April 23rd, 2022 for a total of 110 days of ice cover. (Photo by Nicole Haupt on April 22nd, 2022 on Long Arm)

That is a little more than the average days of ice cover of 102 days as recorded since 2009. The longest ice cover time was 136 days recorded in 2014 and 2018. The shortest was 60 days recorded in 2010 and 2013. We enjoy the ice while we can but it sure is great to see it go too!

(Some like William Chepesiuk like it more than most!)
