Hydro One sent the Community Announcement (download the full Notice below) on Aug. 17, 2018. Construction will begin during the week of Aug. 27, 2018 of a transmission connection line from the existing 230 kilovolt (kv) transimssion line to the site for the Henvey Inlet Wind (HIW) substation being built on Garden Court near Little Otter Lake.
The connection line will allow the HIW project to deliver electricity to Ontario’s transmission grid. The work may require drilling into rock to secure the 22 structures required and Hydro One apologizes for any noise associated with the activity.
During the summer and early fall work hours are expected to be from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. from Mon. – Thurs.
In late fall and winter, crews will generally work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Hydro One does not anticipate having to work on weekends.
OLRA has requested a visual of what the final project will look like from Little Otter Lake and will add an update if we receive it.
