About The Association

The Otter Lake Ratepayers' Association (OLRA) has been in existence for over 40 years. Our Executive consists of nine dedicated volunteers. Membership entitles you to receive our informative newsletters and periodic notices of issues that affect Otter Lake, the right to stand for election to the board, and to vote on issues at our meetings.

OLRA addresses issues of concern not only to Otter Lake and its surrounding area but also Seguin Township. We are one of the most prominent ratepayer associations in the township. We monitor council; we initiate informal meetings with other Seguin Township Ratepayer Associations; we monitor lake water quality as part of the MOE Lake Partner Program; we host all candidate meetings in Municipal Election years, etc. The Mayor and Councillors usually attend our Annual General Meeting to hear our concerns.

We are members of FOCA (Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association), WRAFT (Waterfront Ratepayers After Fair Taxation) and GBBR (Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our President is a member of GBA (Georgian Bay Association).
