One Loon Chick on Little Otter Doing Well
Date Posted: September 3, 2016
One of the two Loon chicks hatched on Little Otter is doing very well and is near adult size now - see photo. Sadly, the other has not survived after seemingly being pecked in the eye by a rival adult Loon. Aspen Wildlife Sanctuary expertly and promptly responded to rescue the Loon. However, the eye injury was severe enough that despite best efforts the Loon could not be saved. Thank you to all who donated to Aspen Wildlife Sanctuary at the OLRA BBQ and at the marina! They do great work!
